Upper Place, Clapton
Thornsett partnered with Upper Clapton United Reformed Church to deliver a new church and community space along with 27 apartments in the borough of Hackney. The site was previously home to a small worship space that was in desperate need of refurbishment. It originally had an outline planning consent for 26 apartments and a new church. Thornsett then secured a detailed consent for 27 private apartments, ensuring the development potential of the site was maximised in an area in need of regeneration. Construction completed in July 2019.
